The Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge in concert (Fri, Sept 20; 8-10PM)
Probably the best choir in the world, an ensemble of undergraduates, directed by Stephen Layton, returns to Pittsburgh on September 20th with a program of exquisite and glorious choral music, ranging from the Tudors to contemporary masters, including Ešenvalds, Lauridsen, and Tavener, and closing with music by Herbert Howells.
Antarctica, the Frozen Continent I The Golden Age of British Antarctic Exploration (Sat, Oct 5; 10AM-Noon)
Our first-ever Britsburgh event in partnership with the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium! Full English breakfast & talks on the geography of what famed explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton termed the “region of ice and snow;” history of Scott and Shackleton expeditions; experiences of contemporary travelers and explorers; and a wildlife component.
