Enjoy a night of ghost stories and literature from the era of the British Raj. E.g. Kipling's "The Phantom Rickshaw". As a special treat for Halloween, we’ll enjoy a reading of what is perhaps B.M. Croker’s best known ghost story, “To Let,”. Includes light Anglo-Indian style refreshments
Women of the World War II Home Front & Afternoon Tea (Sat, Nov 2; 2-4PM)
A fashion-focused program on the role of women in both the US and the UK during the war and how fashions reflected both their wartime roles and the impact of the war itself. Includes afternoon tea.
Britsburgh Guy Fawkes (aka Bonfire) Night (Sat, Nov 9; 6-8:30PM)
In the best of British tradition we celebrate the unsuccessful attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament on November 5th, 1605 by burning his effigy atop a bonfire at Hartwood Acres. Join us for the bonfire and enjoy fun games like apple bobbing; coconut shy and stuffing the Guy.
